I couldn’t resist without writing about this topic especially after watching the movie starring Vidya Balan (Tumhari Sulu) no other character in the movie stands tall as she does! though every character played by other actors was well written and well played.
More than reviewing this movie I want to talk about the concept it showed . A homemaker who hopes to work and do something independently.I guess this is the story of almost every 2nd homemaker in the world. Leaving the new mothers or those who don’t have any one to take care of their babies, everyone dreams of becoming independent.
The fact is every other person in the society also keeps asking her when will you resume work (if she is on a break) or what will you do in your life/are you applying for any job?
Most woman these days are independent which is really encouraging and good but there are some who are not and probably are not working as they don’t have any support from their family. The movie also treaded on the same path, where family was not that supportive of the lead doing some random job but she was able to start her job as her spouse was supportive, which according to me was quite realistically shown as I have myself observed this in my life where my mother had to quit her Government job as no one in the family was supportive of her job.
Some people might say that you are in a well to do family why do you need to go out and work? But according to me , we don’t work only for money, when we move out of our comfort zone , meet new people , discuss new things we grow mentally and psychologically and this growth can not be achieved while we are at home.( Leaving those woman who work from home due to some issues).
The question that is really irritates everyone is :What do you do? Firstly , I don’t think any one has the right to question what the other woman does and secondly even if she is a homemaker believe me bloggers it’s a huge task especially if she is also a mother! Thirdly , people always have problem if you do something they will say why are you doing a job who will take care of your home? If you don’t they’ll keep pestering you that why did you study so much if you just had to be home..Ughh
So, the most sorted answer for what do you do is : If you don’t work somewhere ; I am a proud homemaker or a mother as even our new Miss world quoted: any career or profession can not be counted on how much money you make , it is counted by love and respect and I truly agree with her ! So be proud in what you do ..because if you will not love and respect yourself no one else will!!
